AJ Rahman paid tribute to the “incredible team” at Norvic Shipping after receiving the Entrepreneur of the Year accolade during the International Bulk Journal Awards in London on 20 November.
Commenting on this recognition, Norvic’s Chairman and Group CEO said the award was testament to the collective brilliance, dedication and resilience of everyone working at the global dry bulk owner and operator. “We continue to recruit the best in the business and together we have a shared vision and commitment to modernize the way that dry bulk shipping operates in an increasingly volatile market,” he said.
The shipping entrepreneur also thanked his wife, Mahween, and family for their unwavering support since he launched Norvic Shipping in 2006.
AJ shared his thoughts on dry bulk being a challenging industry with an ecosystem where precision, efficiency, and reliability are not just desired but essential. “Our industry might not always be in the limelight, but its impact is undeniable,” he said.
“From the grains that feed nations to the commodities that power cities, the ripple effect of our work is felt around the globe. It is an industry that is challenging and one that always keeps you on your toes. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new.”
Norvic’s founder believes that the best is yet to come. “I see this award, not as a culmination but as a beginning; I’m excited for Norvic’s future. We remain passionate about navigating the latest challenges facing bulk shipping as we pursue our growth plans. These will continue to be built on nurturing our strong customer relationships that are underpinned by our knowledgeable, agile and straightforward approach to moving cargoes from A to B no matter how complex the scenario is.”
